As a part of Switched On London, a number of landmarks in London have been lit up using LEDs.  A few of the displays are interactive and the most interesting (to me, at least) of these is the lighting on London Bridge.

Xbox Live Video Marketplace is LIVE!

I just reveived an alert from Major Nelson’s site that the Video Marketplace due for today is now online and working! I had a quick look and it seems to work with a Silver account with an address based in the US…from the UK. I had a quick look at the preview for V for Vendetta, which appears in a small window in the right half of the marketplace pages.

Major Nelson has updated his readers with info about the Autumn/Fall Dashboard update for the Xbox 360. The update will go live at 0200 hrs PT (ooer), that’s 1000hrs GMT for those in the UK, on Tuesday 31st. After listening to and reading many suggestions, this is the complete list for the second bi-annual update tomorrow (also listed below). One feature that was requested across many communities - the ability for the dashboard to display the disc title in the disc tray – was left out! Anyway, here are the features of the update:

Lik-Sang going out of business, blames Sony

It looks like Lik-Sang, a Hong Kong based retailer exporting gaming gear worldwide, has buckled under the legal pressure put on by Sony for explorting PSPs to Europe. Sony won a case at the High-Court in London due to an apparent no-show by Lik-Sang on Wednesday (18/10/2006). The court found in favour of Sony Computer Entertainment citing the practice of grey imports being a “..breach of intellectual property rights” [gamesindustry.biz]

What can you buy for $1.65 Billion? Google Buys YouTube!

I’ve just been made aware of the latest on the ‘is Google buying YouTube’ situation from the Robert Scoble’s blog. It turns out that the deal has been done and in return for $1.65 Billion..yes BILLION….in stock, Google now owns YouTube. How long before we see a Google search box or option on YouTube? :)
