For 48 hours, which started from 8am GMT today, Texas Hold’em is free! This is the poker game that will cost you 800 points (around £9.88 depending on how much you pay for those points). I also believe this is the game that has support for the Vision Camera so you can have your mug on display to other punters!

Can’t remember which blog I originally saw this on but it linked to a marketing site with two videos of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant in a Microsoft UK training video shown, presumably, to new employees.

This morning, the faceplate to replace the cracked one I was sent with my refurbed Xbox 360, was delivered. The strange thing is that it was in a thin bubblewrap envelope with no hard casing or packaging around the faceplate. Knowing first hand how packets and parcels are handled during sorting, I’m surprised this faceplate didn’t crack in half during transit.

The day after my call to Xbox Support (17/08/2006), I received a callback asking what the hell I wanted. I told them about the broken faceplate, unfortunately the support person calling me had to escalate the problem and said he would get a manager to call me back. Around 40 minutes later another call comes through, this time it is the Escalation Manager, blimey, that was quick. I explained how I had sent off an Xbox 360 in mint condition and received some scuffed up cracked thing pretending to be a console. I was told the scuffs were from the testing bench but the red carpet dust couldn’t be so easily explained away.
I was asked about the crack and as it was on the faceplate, I was offered a replacement, a FIFA faceplate, I refused. I asked for a standard one instead, I should have tried my luck for a PGR3 faceplate but my memory and innovation failed me at the time.

The main reason being the workflow being so inadequate.

I had the misfortune of turning on my Xbox 360 the other day only to find that it stuck two fingers up at me and said “I’m not switching on today”. It displayed the dreaded 3 red lights. After following the guides on the Xbox 360 Support pages, I still had a dead Xbox 360 so I decided to visit llamma.com to see if there was a diagnosis available for the 3 lights. After carrying out some fruity procedure of holding the wireless connection button and pressing the eject button, I garnered a code of 0020. Surprise-surprise, the error is unknown.

I was thinking about how the body's existing pathways of nerves, muscle fibres, tendons etc could all be used as communications devices around the body. Just a quick muttering but here goes.

BT Yahoo! or is that BT Broadband, who cares, they’re providing another set of packages to compete with the low price ADSL providers. As they can’t drop prices on their packages just yet, they’re adding more features to existing packages and re-branding them.
